Rod
Schraeder’s ’37 Chevrolet Businessman’s Roadster
Rod has been trying to get a decent project underway for
many years & when he came across this Roadster out the back
of NSW he decided this was the way to go. It arrived here in very
sad shape but is a very rare car in Australia – we
understand only 184 were built. It’s now a full on Street
Rod with 350 Chev, T/H 350 auto, Mitsubishi L300 front end,
Commodore Steering Rack & lots of custom touches.
The entire Rod was built "in house" with the exception of the paint – credit must go to Leigh Fielder of Dawson's Truck refinishing & the trim, another fantastic job by Pat Mesiti of Sunshine Motor Trimmers. The finished product was driven uneventfully by Pete about 2000km to Rod & Sue’s place in Tweed Heads just south of the QLD border & then on to the Easter 2000 Hot Rod Nationals at Cleveland in Brisbane.
